A. SMITH BOWMAN DISTILLERY

In 1934 A. Smith Bowman built a distillery on his family farm in Fairfax County and turned it into a remarkable enterprise. With the help of his two sons, he began whiskey production and until the 1950s, A. Smith Bowman Distillery was the sole producer of legal whiskey in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Today, our historic, family-owned distillery, sits 60 miles from its original location and is Virginia's most award-winning distillery.

Barton 1792 Distillery was established in 1879 and continues today as the oldest fully-operating Distillery in Bardstown, Kentucky. Situated in heart of bourbon country on 196 acres, the Distillery boasts 29 barrel aging warehouses, 22 other buildings including an impressive still house, and the legendary Tom Moore Spring.
